HISTORY
 Body Time began as The Body Shop, in 1970, on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley, CA when two sisters-in-law, Peggy Short and Jane Saunders, decided to go into business together. Body Time’s industry firsts–minimal packaging, handwritten labels, encouraging customers to recycle by giving a discount when they bring in their empty bottles to be refilled and “custom scenting” of unscented products chosen from the extensive selection of concentrated perfume oils offered–helped the company grow and flourish.
MODERN DAY
Body Time currently operates four retail stores, two in Berkeley and one each in Oakland and San Anselmo (Marin County), as well as a mail order division that operates out of its Berkeley headquarters. Our excellent products are still locally made, 100% biodegradable, not tested on animals and produced in ways that minimize the impact on the environment. In addition to our original product line, featuring China Rain®, we also carry a botanical product line containing only the highest quality, earth friendly, plant-derived ingredients that offer the maximum in therapeutic benefits.
